Theatre

Theatre class has been a really different experience for me to compare to other classes. Most of the time in class, we do activities, watch perfomances and write feedbacks. When I’m not acting, I’ll learn about how the actors use their bodies and emotions to tell stories.

I feel mostly comfortable in my class. At first, I wasn’t sure if I can study this class because of how confident I would feel. I thought I would do a lot of perfomances and presentation, but that was my conception. In reality, I did many activities that slowly helped me open more. Additionally, my class environment is really positive, and my friends in class helped me a lot by being supportive.

For the midterm, I created my own scene based on the song I chose “Take Me To Church”. After finishing the scene description, I performed it silently because it was a nonverbal performance. The process helped me understand how ideas can turn into a performance on stage.
